TriboDyn SAE 30W High Zinc Break-In Oil 2200 ppm ZDDP
TriboDyn SAE 30W Break-In Oil delivers 2200 ppm ZDDP (zinc) for superior anti-wear protection during critical engine break-in periods. This high-zinc conventional petroleum-based oil is engineered for new or rebuilt high-performance engines to optimize ring seating, condition cylinder walls, and protect flat tappet and roller camshafts during the first 400–500 miles of operation.
The high-zinc formulation provides the sacrificial wear layer needed to prevent metal-to-metal contact during break-in, ensuring proper component mating and long-term engine reliability. Made in the USA with a high SAPS API SJ rating.
Key Benefits:
- High zinc content (2200 ppm ZDDP) for maximum break-in protection
- Optimizes ring seating and conditions cylinder walls
- Protects flat tappet and roller camshafts during initial operation
- Provides sacrificial anti-wear layer to prevent metal-to-metal contact
- Suitable for new and rebuilt high-performance engines
- Made in the USA
Recommended Applications: Ideal for breaking in new or rebuilt high-performance engines, including flat tappet camshafts, racing engines, and classic/high-output street engines requiring elevated zinc levels during the critical break-in period.

Why Choose TriboDyn Break-In 30W Motor Oil

High Zinc (2200 ppm)
Provides extreme anti-wear protection during the critical break-in period. No additional ZDDP or zinc additives needed.

Flat Tappet & Lifter Protection
Specifically engineered for flat tappet cams, lifters, and high-performance motors to prevent wear during initial break-in.

High SAPS Formulation
High sulfated ash, phosphorus, and sulfur content promotes excellent detergency and keeps the motor clean during break-in.

Low Volatility & Seal Compatibility
Conventional petroleum base stocks are more compatible with seals and gaskets than synthetics, helping them seat properly while minimizing oil consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions
Conventional petroleum base stocks are more compatible with new seals and gaskets, helping them seat properly and seal correctly during the critical break-in period.
It is specifically engineered for the critical break-in period with 2200 ppm zinc and a conventional petroleum base that is more compatible with seals and gaskets than synthetic oils.
Use it for the first 400 miles or as recommended by your engine builder (typically the initial break-in period). After break-in, switch to TRI-EX² full synthetic motor oils for ongoing performance.
Yes. It is specifically designed to protect flat tappet cams, lifters, overhead cams, and roller cam engines during the initial break-in phase.
No. This oil already contains 2200 ppm zinc and is formulated to provide all the protection needed during break-in without any additional additives.
No. The high zinc content is not compatible with catalytic converters. It is intended only for break-in on high-performance and rebuilt engines without catalytic converters.
